I do not know where to begin with thanking you.
I tried to plan the 'perfect' wedding, which a few weeks ago I realised was maybe a bit ambitious, however, I do think we had the perfect wedding and you 100% contributed to this.
For that, we are forever grateful.
Booking you all those years ago, we never even met or spoke on the phone but I knew that I wanted you there to capture our special day.
Having to postpone was gutting, and I had said 'If Derek isn't free, we need to keep changing the date until he is!' I'm sure Ross rolled his eyes at me when I said that, however, he now understands exactly why I said that!
Every supplier I had spoken to raved about you as soon as I mentioned we had you booked, which itself speaks volumes about you as a person and your work. Your love and passion for photography really shows when you are working and in your photographs.
Speaking to you on the phone a few weeks ago we knew we had made the right decision choosing you, it felt like speaking to someone we had known for years. You completely put us at ease.
Then meeting you on the wedding morning, I felt like I had met you before.
You were an absolute pleasure to have at our wedding, exactly what we had hoped for on our special day. We are in love with the photos we have already seen, and are so excited to get the rest! You are one of the nicest guys we have ever met and you made our dreams come true on Saturday.

We had Derek as our Wedding photographer in April this year and really can’t recommend him enough. We spoke a couple of times before the day and met up to discuss how we wanted the day to go, Derek put me at ease as soon as we spoke. He is so experienced he has so many tips and tricks to share I found it so useful talking through different parts of the day. On the day itself, he is so on point with everything, making sure he captures all the little moments without turning the day into a huge photoshoot. He slotted into our day perfectly and took control to get our guests where they needed to be for photos at different times. We received our highlight photos the morning after the wedding which was amazing being able to share with family and friends, I really didn’t expect them so quick and lots of people commented to say how surprised the turnaround time was. The pictures were absolutely incredible, so natural yet capturing everything perfectly. We then received all of the finished pictures 2 weeks later, which was unbelievably quick. The electronic album was brilliant as I could share with my friends and family to view too. Derek has still been helping since, talking through printed album options to choose from. If you are looking for a natural and experienced wedding photographer you will not regret booking Derek. Thanks again!
We booked Derek for our wedding after we seen some of his work in one of the albums at our wedding venue, we knew straight away that he was exactly what we were looking for. As soon as we started chatting to Derek, you just knew that he was such a lovely person and you can really tell he loves his job, it shines through in his work. On our wedding day, Derek was such a laugh, I don't think I have ever laughed so much, which made for the most beautiful pictures. Derek was so chill & calming on the day, we never felt like we were away from our guests for hours and it was so much fun when we were away for photos. We had so much time and it was just amazing. Derek is on another level. He made us feel so at ease on our wedding day and gave us a perfect mix of posed, candid and sentimental photos. No words can thank you enough for the amazing work that you do but we've tried our best! We'll be entirely grateful...
From our first contact with Derek, we knew "he was the one!" Derek had come recommended by our venue and he did not disappoint! His friendly manner, keen ideas and demonstrated incredible work during our consultation was superb; this really set up what an incredible professional and gentleman Derek really is.
He was more than happy to answer all of our questions and meet our needs, as well as describing and taking us through every step of the process. His communications were quick and detailed. We had also booked an "engagement shoot" which we did a few months before the wedding. Dereks keen eye for detail is what sets him apart from the rest. He is able to capture a moment, an emotion or even suggest a new angle for photos which would look fantastic.
In the run up to the wedding, it felt like dealing with a good friend, Derek was very open and comprehensive collecting details for our day. When he arrived at our wedding, he was straight to work and was able to take some incredible photos! At times you did not even know he was there, which makes all the difference during the ceremony and meal. Derek was adaptable on the day (during the rain!) and was quick to send us some 'teasers' and then the official photos followed shortly after. We cannot thank Derek enough for his hard work and commitment throughout the whole process, he really made it a relaxing day and delivered some unbelievable photos!
We loved sharing our day with Derek, he worked well with all our suppliers and his relationship with Mikey (videographer) was insane. We wouldn't think twice about recommending Derek

Derek was absolutely fantastic, from our initial conversations it was clear that he wanted us to enjoy our day as much as possible and still obtain the photos that we wanted. He kept us laughing throughout, taking in locations around our venue that made for the most beautiful photos and captured many different moments from pre-wedding to the ceremony and reception. His advice and patience on the day was invaluable and admirable, especially organising less mobile members of the wedding party into position for photos. Derek is a friendly genuine guy and was the photographer for my son's wedding 23.3.19. His attention to detail shown to everyone was second to none. He engaged with everyone and suggested photos we hadn't thought off. The wedding was at Raddison Collection, George IV Bridge and after taking photo's at St Giles he went the extra mile and arranged to take Jenna and Cha to Arthur Seat, where they got engaged the previous year for more photo's, which added to their special day and really meant a lot to them and our families.
I haven't seen the official photos yet only a couple of samples but had a quick scan from his camera and what I saw looked amazing.

After being in the wedding industry myself for years - I know how confusing it can be trying to pick and choose suppliers etc, but the one thing I can highly recommend is a good photographer. Derek is without a doubt the best photographer you could hope for. He is so down to earth and friendly and his work is second to none. My husband and I could not rate him more highly or recommend him enough. The engagement shoot was fantastic and really helped to break the ice. On our wedding day he was wonderful. Even while trying to round up groups of family including excited children, his manner remained friendly, calm and relaxed, and this lasted the whole day. Our guests all loved him too and at one point during the evening he was even teaching the kids magic tricks! His photo albums are the best quality you could imagine and his turn around times are so quick. We just wanted to say a HUGE thank you for the stunning photos! They really capture the wedding in such a beautiful way, and we will really treasure them.
