It was great to catch up with Adele & Scott down at Yellowcraigs on Sunday. It was a beautiful afternoon in East Lothian and the light was perfect for some nice engagement photos.
Adele & Scott were great together and really shone in front of the camera. Here's to and awesome Hogmanay wedding!
I headed off to the west coast on Friday to meet up with Christine & Stephen for their Engagement Shoot. It was great to finally meet up with the happy couple at The Waterside to chat over ideas and plans for the wedding over nice hot cup of coffee. It was actually pretty chilly outside!
Not long now to the autumnal wedding day at the stunning, Enterkine House.
Calton Hill, one of those places that if you asked people from Edinburgh if they'd been up there, a large percentage would say no. The views are stunning though!
Paula and Paul slipped into the photos really quickly. They said they were a little nervous to start with but it didn't show at all. Both so natural in front of the camera. We had a wander around Calton Hill, climbing the monument first then heading round to get some shot with Arthurs Seat as a backdrop. Finally it was down to street level for a few, less windswept shots.
It was a typical Scottish summer morning on Sunday past when I met up with Kirsty & Blair for their engagement session at Crichton Castle. You can hear a pin drop when you're up there as there's virtually nothing from the 21st century up there. You can almost transport yourself back in time.
It was a great session with Kirsty and Blair. The wedding is at The Vu in September and it's going to be awesome!
It's been a long time since I've done a photo shoot in the pouring rain but I have to say, I'd love to do more. Natasha & Donald were really up for getting out there in the rain at Yellowcraigs.
We started in the woods as when we first arrived it was torrential! Bouncing off the pavement kind of rain so my plan was to start with some shots in the woodland and hope that the heavy stuff would be off by the time we hit the beach. I love it when a plan comes together!

I met up with Emma and Thomas down at Hawes Pier, South Queensferry for their engagement shoot. It was such a gorgeous day for a stroll along the town, chatting about wedding plans and taking a few photos as we went.
The big day is next month in Leven and the Hill Of Tarvit in Cupar.
I met up with Hazel and Stewart and Rosslyn Chapel which was made even more famous by "The DaVinci Code". Zoe the labrador came along with us for some photos too. She's lovely and at 13 years old was keeping up superbly.
We chatted about the plans for the wedding day at Cornhill Castle as we walked through the countryside grabbing a few shots here and there. Hazel was a total natural as was Stewart once we got going. Great couple and a gorgeous summer wedding to look forward too!
A blustery photoshoot down at Gullane with Emma & Shane. Gullane is such a lovely beach for photographs as it has everything. Those dunes, white sands and the crescent shape which looks awesome in the background.
Emma & Shane were up for pretty much anything and they had a ball. It really shines through in the photos just how much they mean to each other. It was a joy to see and photograph. The big day is next month in Melrose!
I met up with Louise and Campbell at Vogrie Country Park for their engagement session on a chilly but nice early spring day. It's alway since to see the early nerves melt away as the session goes on and by the end, I think they forgot I was there in some of the shots.

It was off to the very picturesque village of Falkland for Catriona & Daniel's engagement session on Sunday. It's a lovely place and most recently gained some attention as a filming location in the hit Amazon Prime show "Outlander".
It was a gorgeous morning for a stroll around the woods with little Alfie the dog, running after his tennis ball. Catriona and Daniel were both so much fun and relaxed into the session from the very beginning.
The big day is this June at The Macdonald Forrest Hills Hotel and I reckon it's going to be a cracker!
It was a stunning early Spring day at Vogrie Country Park for Tania and Dale's engagement shoot. Vogrie is fast becoming the most popular location for the e-sessions. No wonder though, it's beautiful there.
Tania and Dale (and the dogs) were great. We wandered around the park on what was a very busy Sunday morning due the rare sunshine but Tania and Dale didn't seem to notice. The big day is in June at the spectacular Melville Castle.
I met up with Amy and Kyle at Rodney Gardens in Perth last Sunday for their Engagement Shoot. It was great to catch up with Amy & Kyle before the wedding and as they live all the way up in Aberdeenshire, we chose Perth as a great location halfway between us.
They were both great and we got some great shots. With Amy & Kyle and Aswanley for a venue, this is going to be an awesome wedding!
I met with Heather and Robert on Wednesday for the engagement shoot at Dalkeith Country Park. It's a great walk around there and we got some lovely photos of Heather & Robert. Like every couple it takes a few minutes to get used to having your picture taken but after a while they were fantastic. Roll On April!
I met up with Zoe and Ben for the first time today at Hawes Pier, South Queensferry. It was pretty chilly but thankfully we were all wrapped up nice and warm for a walk through this lovely picturesque town. We had a great time and I can't wait for the wedding in St Andrews in May!
From the minute I picked Sarah & Jamie up to the minute I dropped them off I don't think any of us stopped laughing. The hour seemed to fly by! We headed into Dalkeith Country Park as it was a little breezy to say the least so the park offered some welcome shelter. Right from the get go, Sarah and Jamie just ran with it and had a blast. I was quite happy not saying to much as they were doing such a great job on their own. Just brilliant!
The big day is in July at Eskmills, it's going to be brilliant!
I met up with Lauren & Robert at Musselburgh Harbour for their e-session shoot but the wind wasn't playing ball so we headed off to Lewisvale park over at Inveresk to try and get a bit more shelter from the blustery breezes.We wandered around the park grabbing a few shots in the shade under the trees as well as shooting back into the sun for a different look. Both Lauren and Robert were brilliant, smiling, laughing and having a great time. Love the E-sessions!!
Laura won a fantastic make-over and photoshoot I was running with Helen from CityBrides so we planned to arrange the e-session for just after the shoot. We took a wander down to Dalkeith Country Park with Nina by Donald and Laura's side. It was great to have a chat about the wedding plan for the day and to find out Laura & Donald have booked the Awesome wedding band, Bon Accord for the big day. The wedding is in September this year with reception at The Houston House Hotel.
It was back to Newbattle Abbey for Lana & Keith's engagement shoot. It was great to finally meet Lana & Keith and going straight in at the deep end and into a the E-session for them both was actually more like jumping into a puddle. They were great fun and we had a great chat about the wedding plans as well as some informal pose ideas to keep things fun and natural. One of those shoots when you know that your clients are going to be just fine as they forget I'm there for a few seconds here and there. Just how it should be.
Lana & Keith are getting married at the beautiful Carberry Tower near Musselburgh in April.
January in St Andrews for Lynsey & Craig's engagement shoot and the sun was shining! I'm very honoured to be asked to shoot Lynsey and Craig's wedding as I photographed Lorna (Lynsey's sister) and Calum's wedding last year at New lanark. Brilliant family and I am really looking forward to meeting everyone again. Lynsey & Craig's wedding will take place at the beautiful Kenmore Hotel, Aberfeldy this May. It's going to be awesome!
Yellowcraigs is a bit of a regualr spot for taking engagement shoot photos as it's got a little bit of everything. Beach, Dunes, and a nice woodland too. Perfect! I met up with Courtney and Lee in the carpark on what was a lovely afternoon last Sunday. The sun was shining and it wasn't even that chilly but for the first time ever doing a shoot down at Yellowcraigs the tide was in. Still it didn't dampen our chances to get some great shots but it did dampen my feet when we went over the the rocks to grab some shots with the lighthouse as a backdrop. A freak wave soaked my feet and it was freezing!
Courtney and Lee just relaxed into the shots so quickly and before long they were doing brilliant in front of the camera. I always say that this is as posed and staged as it gets as there's always so much more going on during the wedding day itslef. More opportunities to grab some candid and fun shots.
I had a great time guys and it was a good laugh too. We'll be able to look back in years and remember why were were all in fits in the woods!
The wedding is in May this year at GH Event Catering's Eskmills Venue in Musselburgh. I'm delighted to say I am on their preferred supplier list as I've shot loads of amazing weddings there and everyone has been brilliant. Great team as always down there. Thanks for a great time Courtney & Lee!
