I met with Amy and Paul, intially down at The Hawes in South Queensferry. We took a walk along by the High Street stopping here and there to grab a few shots along the way. Just for a little bit of contrast form the lovley street scenes, we headed up on to the fields to have some fun with the hay bails. It was a great afternoon with a great couple! Amy and Paul will be tying the knot in November 2015 at Crieff Hydro.
Leanne & Martin's Glen Pavilion Wedding
Leanne & Martin are genuinly two of the nicest people you'll ever meet. Their wedding day at the Glen Pavilion was defintely one to remember. I met up with Leanne as she was getting ready for the big day at home with her family. As luck would have it, Martin was getting ready next door so I managed to grab a few shots of Martin getting his kilt on, with a little help from mum. As Martin set off in the wedding car to The Pavilion I chatted with Leanne for a bit. She asked me to take a photo at the end of the night as she would be shaving her hair off for MacMillan Cancer trust after the wedding. She asked if she could get a shot with fellow fund raisers who were doing the same. I knew then that Leanne really had a heart of gold. She's been growing her hair for 2 years straight just so she could raise the money by shaving it off.
I headed the The Glen pavilion to meet the other guests as they arrived and take some candid shots before the bride arrived. Leanne looked amazing as she emerged from the car with her Mum and Brother. The ceremony was held in the grand hall then we had the guests out for my favourite confetti picture.
After the family formals Leanne, Martin and I took a walk around the park for some lovely bride and groom shots before heading back for the wedding breakfast. The speeches were brilliant and apparently Martin had unlocked an Xbox achievement....Get Married!
It was a brilliant day and a huge thank you to Both Leanne & Martin for making me part of their special day.

Melissa & Steve's Wedding At The New Drumossie, Inverness
I do actually love heading out on little adventures to shoot weddings for clients. The trip to Inverness for Melissa & Steve's wedding was brilliant as I got to travel up past the Drumochter Pass and catch some views of that Iconic scenery. I first met Melissa & Steve at Camperdown Park in Dundee for the Engagement Shoot. I've done a quite a few shoots there now as it's lovely and I don't need to use satnav any more to find it. I knew right away we are in for a brilliant wedding day as both Melissa & Steve just relaxed into the shoot. Boy, was I right! The wedding day was easily one of my favourites of 2014. The New Drumossie Hotel is a perfect wedding venue, Melissa and Steve are just a brilliant couple who could not have been any nicer or accommodating both on the day and the build up. The day started with the bridal preparations and some gorgeous and unusal bouquet designs that looked amazing! Then I headed downstairs to meet the boys and grab some shots of the rest of the guests arriving.
After the ceremony and group photos Melissa & Steve smashed a cake with a big wooden rolling pin sending Maltesers everywhere. I did pinch a couple but aren't they the lighter way to enjoy chocolate?
After the speeches and dinner we took a stroll around the grounds for a few minutes to get some shots of the sky that was starting to form a lovely sunset, which would be perfect some more dramatic wide angled shots. Before we knew it, it was time for the first dance and the party. Time to let your hair down and enjoy the rest of the night.
As I said before, easily one of my favourite weddings from last year. I'll be back in Inverness this year and I can't wait for another wedding like this up there!

Tasha & Josh's Wedding At Dalmahoy Golf & Country Club
Yet another wonderful wedding with two fantastic families. One of those days when you are heading home and you think to yourself. "I love my job!." First stop for Tasha & Josh's wedding was Boots at the Gyle Shopping Centre where Danielle and the rest of the staff did an amazing job on make-up. Tasha was then getting ready for the big day at her Mum & Dad's house in the west of Edinburgh while Josh and the boys were getting suited and booted at the Premier In at Dregorn. It's only a 5 minute dash between the two locations so it was great to be able to get shots of Tasha getting ready and Josh putting on his uniform this special day.
The ceremony was to take place at St Mary's Church in the grounds of Dalmahoy and a huge thank you to Derek the minister for letting me do my little trick of getting the confetti shot, quicky and more importantly in a fun way without holding everyone up. It's a little different from tradition but works really well to avoid that bottle neck at the front door of the church.
Dalmahoy welcomed the guests with champagne and canopes as they at the main house. We grabbed a quick group shot on the feature staircase first before some of the guests checked in for the night. I usually arrange the group shots first but we arranged in advance on this occasion to photograph Tasha & Josh first so by the time we were finished, the guests had all checked in and had some time to enjoy chatting and mingling with other guests. It's important to me that the bride and groom mingle and have the opportunity to enjoy the day they have meticulously planned for over a year too. I always have a schedule of events with me so we had time for some smoozing before starting the family shots.
After dinner Tasha and Josh cut the cake and had their first dance followed quickly by the best Father & Daughter dance I've ever seen. They certainly had us all fooled but what a brilliant laugh it was. You guys can move... seriously!!
Yet another favourite from 2014 and not only a wonderful couple but two brilliant familes too.

Janette & Stuart's Balbirnie House Wedding
Back to one of my favourite venues, Balbirnie House, to photograph Janette & Stuart's wedding. It turned out to be a perfect day with a lovely couple and great guests. I was especially delighted to meet up with previous clients and friends Nerissa & Kenny who's wedding I had shot a couple of years earlier..or was it three years earlier? Time flies I guess. Janette was getting ready in one of the rooms on the ground floor so I decided to go and meet Stuart and the guys as they arrived. I hardly recognised Stuart! He was looking very trim indeed. I'll need to ask him his secret one of these days. I took some shots of Stuart and the groomsmen as they greeted and chatted with newly arriving guests. Janette was almost ready so I took the opportunity to get a few shots of the finishing touches and I have to say, she looked incredible, just incredible.
The ceremony was in the Long Room at Balbirnie which had been beautifully prepared by the staff as always. After the ceremony we headed outside for confetti and group shots followed by bride and groom portraits around Balbirnies beautiful lawns and gardens.
Finally after the wedding breakfast it was time to party and make no mistake, they partied alright. Some awesome dance moves were on show and it was great fun jsut gliding around the edge of the dance floor picking of shots as the guests let their hair down.
Another perfect wedding.

Elaine & Matt's Hillcroft Hotel Wedding
A scorching hot day in West Lothian for Elaine & Matt's wedding at The Hillcroft Hotel with ceremony at The Kirk Of Calder. I was first to arrive just minutes before the the boys walked into view from the centre of Mid-Calder. All the guests seem to arrive at once and soon the church grounds were buzzing with anticipation and chat of the big day.Elaine arrived with her dad and looked simply beautiful. I took a few shots with Elaine and the car before heading inside to photograph the wedding ceremony. Straight after the ceremony the guests were organised into a tunnel of confetti for the new Mr & Mrs Mulligan. It was fantastic as Elaine had really gone to town with the confetti.
We headed off to The Hillcroft stopping of at a park for some bride and groom photographs on the way. The Hillcroft had done a magnificent job with the reception room. It looked amazing! I loved the litle vinitage tea sets on the tables too. A great idea for any brides out there planiing their wedding.
After the meal it was time for a bit of fun and mingling with guests, taking photos of their familes in an ad-hoc laid back kind of way. Nothing too formal, just how it should be.

The Maitlandfield Hotel Wedding Photography - Lisa & Stuart
Another glorious sun shining day this time for Lisa and Stuart's wedding at The Maitlandfield Hotel in Haddington. Lisa and the girls got ready for the big day in a huge room on the first floor of the hotel while Stuart and the boys converged on the pub for a quick pint before heading over to the church. Lisa looked beautiful as she drew up in the wedding car with her dad. The ceremony was very memorable and afterwards all the guests headed across the street to The Maitlandfield for the drinks reception, while the bride and groom went for a wee drive to have a little time to themselves.
It was a fantastic day and it was a pleasure to photograph two of the nicest people you'll ever meet on their perfect wedding day!

Barony Castle Wedding Photography - Jude & Gavin
I was back to Barony Castle for Jude and Gavin's Wedding Photography. One of the best wedding venues in the country no question. The morning however, started in Penicuik. Bridal Prep was all done at Jude's parents house as the wedding ceremony was taking place at The Sacred Heart RC Church in Penicuik. It was a lovely ceremony and there ws evena few laughs along the way as Gavin struggled to get the ring on Jude's finger. Priceless.
After the confetti and the congratulations outside the church everyone headed down to Barony Castle in Eddleston. It's a beautiful white Castle set against the hillside with sprawling grounds front and rear. The front lawn is huge but the back lawn is more intimate and perfect for a summer weather reception. I clambered out of the window onto the flat room for the group shot of everyone then it was time for the family shots.
We then headed around the magnificent grounds grabbing a shot here and there. Jude and Gavin were brilliant, laughing and smiling as we walked along. The importance of the E-Session really shone through as there were no nerves, just fun.
Finally it was in for speeches, dinner and dancing to end another perfect wedding at one of Scotland's best wedding venues. Huge thank you to Jude, gavin as well as all the guests as they were all fantastic!

Gemma & Paul's E-Session - Calton Hill, Edinburgh
Gemma & Paul took me to places in Edinburgh I had never even known existed. A secret garden on Calton Hill with beautiful little pathways and views of the skyline. It was a genuine privilege to be able to wander around in such a beautiful setting. All couples are usually a little nervous at the start of the e-session and it usually takes a few minutes to "ease into it" but Gemma & Paul hit the ground running. Natural, fun and relaxed. The wedding at Howies next month is going to be pretty special with their awesome menu, Calton Hill with those views and Gemma & Paul looking fantastic. Roll on July!!

Emma & Ryan's E-Session at Yellowcraigs
I met up with Emma and Ryan on a perfect night at Yellowcraigs. They are a great fun couple that spent the whole session laughing and giggling which makes my job of getting great natural fun photos really easy. Love it when all I have to do is raise the camera and the smiles just start. Happy days! We started off over at the beach then headed into the deep dark woods for some nice, less harsh lighting. Finally we headed off in the cars to the wheat fields further up Ware Road to get a couple of nice off-camera flash shots.

Jennifer & James' E-Session at Vogrie Country Park
First time I've done an engagement shoot at Vogrie Country Park and I have to ask myself, why not? It's beautiful with everything you need for great photos. Jennifer & James are getting married in Perthshire at the end of the month at the spectacular Murthy Castle. It looks like an amazing venue and with Jennifer and James, both sure to look amazing on the day, this is going to be special.

Abby & Colin's E-Session on Arthurs Seat
The bravest couple of the day award went to Abby & Colin. They got up onto that rocky ledge with the wind buffeting them and posed for that shot with those gorgeous clods as the backdrop. Kudos to you both! I always say, the first ten minutes for every couple is a little embarrassing but Abby & Colin just clicked into it immediately and were so much fun and very relaxed in front of the camera. Total naturals! The Hub in Edinburgh is going to be Epic!

Lorna & David's E-Session in Dunfermline
1pm in Sunny Dunfermline. The Glen Pavillion and the beautiful park surrounding it was the location for Lorna & David's E-Session. It seemed like ages since I saw them both as they booked way back in January 2013. Great advice I say, lol. We started off walking down the paths to a quieter part to put Lorna and David at ease as it's not every day you get your photo taken but just then, someone the knew walked past and started asking "What's going on!!?" Very funny indeed.
After some shots in the park we headed to Dunfermline Abbey to finish off the session. Great photos for a great couple

Victoria & Arfon's Wedding At The Royal College Of Surgeons
Rain in June... Whats the chances eh? In Scotland anything can happen and often does. More on that later. For Victoria & Arfon's wedding I headed straight to The Royal College Of Surgeons to meet up with Arfon and the rest of the groomsmen. The guys had great banter as we grabbed a few fun shots before the rest of the guests arrived. It wasn't long before Victoria's wedding car pulled up and she stepped out. She looked beautiful as the passers by in Nicolson Street stopped to watch as she approched Surgeons Hall with her father. Aside from a last minute hiccup with the paperwork (Someone had it all along but forgot they had it), the ceremony was lovely. Candles lit, vows exchanged, rings put on fingers and a kiss. The main hall with all the historic paintings added some serious gravitas too.
We did all the family photos inside in the round marble hall as it was absolutly lashing it down outside. The kind of rain that seems to bounce off the pavement. Didn't matter though as the light there is perfect for photographs anyway so nothing lost there. I then headed outside with Victoria and Arfon but we stayed under the big imposing stone arch as literally a few feet from us there was a river running by it was raining so hard. If you pick the right venue however, it doesn't matter. Surgeons Hall is such a spectacular building both inside and out, it doesn't matter if it pours down.
After the speeches and meal the guests danced the night away to end a beautiful wedding with two lovely people.

Moira & Willie's E-Session At The Shore
The perfect night for an E-Session in Leith. Rolling clouds, great light and a great couple. Moira and Pat are getting married all the way up in Knoydart in August. You can't drive there but there is a ferry to take you there, even though it is on the mainland. Now that's remote! Looks spectacular from what I've seen in pictures from the web though. Can't wait!

Forrester Park Golf Club Wedding - Sarah & Matt
Sarah & Matt's wedding at Forrester Park Golf Club was one of those fun packed days with brilliant guests. I felt like another guest their with a camera on the day due to the countless offers of a pint. Really appreciate it everyone. It was a fairly overcast day but this is always great for photos and no one is squinting in the blazing sunshine when I'm taking photos. Sarah got ready at her mum and dad's house while Matt and the groomsmen greeted everyone at the Forrester Park. Sarah looked stunning as she arrived for the ceremony in what is a beautiful interior. Forrester Park have done a wonderful job on the interior of the clubhouse. It's more like a colonial stately home than a golf club. Very impressive.
After the ceremony we headed outside for group photos as well as canid shots of guests just having a great time. I was very kindly offered a meal in the bar and I have to say, superb! Then it was down to the dancing and the party in to the night.
Thank you for making me part of your very special wedding day guys!

Melissa & Steve's E-Session at Camperdown Park, Dundee
It was up to the City Of Discovery for Melissa & Steve's E-Session. I don't know what's going on with Dundee just now but it's a bit of a wedding hotspot at the moment. I've been lucky enough to photograph a quite a lot of brilliant weddings in the Dundee area of late but Melissa and Steve's wedding is all the way up in Inverness! It was really great to be able to meet half way for the e-session. Very grateful guys and I really appreciate it. Great natural shots came so easy today and is was a great laugh. This is going to be amazing!

Victoria & Afron's E-Session at Dalkeith Country Park
I meet up with Victoria and Afron for the first time the other day at Dalkeith Country Park. Gorgeous place for a photo shoot but the weather hadn't been great before hand so the ground was a little wet but still got some great shots a Victoria and Afron.

Janette & Stuart's E-Session at Balbirnie House
Balbirnie is one of my favourite venues for wedding photography, it's just got picturesque photo opportunities wherever you look. Add Janette and Stuart in to the mix and this is going to be one amazing wedding day! I had a great time over at Balbirnie with Janette and Stuart. Great fun and totally natural in front of the camera. Really looking forward to the big day in July!

Mansfield Traquair Wedding in Edinburgh - Rachel & John Oxley
What a venue! Mansfield Traquair is breathtaking to look at. The interior is stunning and the events team set it up perfectly so all your guests can enjoy your wedding day in a relaxed and fun atmosphere. The day began with Rachel getting ready just before all the girls came into the room to help her with the dress. Then John headed down Broughton Street with the boys to greet family and friends at the entrance of Mansfield Traquair. The whole day was so relaxed and fun and I hope it shows in the shots below . Rachel and John had planned the perfect day.
After the speeches everyone danced the night away with the best Ceilidh band I've heard in a while. Kilter were superb!!!
